The mission of Gettysburg College's Friends of Astronomy is to enjoy and support the programs and facilities at the Observatory and the Hatter Planetarium, and to increase public awareness of college and community issues affecting astronomy.

For an annual fee of $15, benefits to members include:

• Notification of general Observatory open houses and Planetarium shows, and invitation to special events
• Access to Observatory Web cams
• An open invitation to view observing sessions at the Observatory
• Notification of issues affecting astronomy (such as light pollution)
