What our recent grads are doing! 

Anna Jennelle (AJ) Hunter '04 plans to attend the University of Virginia in the fall to earn an M.ED and an Ed. S in mental health counseling.

Dallas Garner '02 completed her M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration from The College of William and Mary in May '04. She is entering a Ph.D. program in social psychology at Penn State University in Fall '04. She'll conduct research on gender issues and begin her teaching assistantship in a research methods classroom.

Kim Wojcik '02 works for Defense Security Services in Maryland doing investigations for the military. She plans to enter the military next year.

Adrienne Smith '02 is working at the Kempe Children's Center in Denver, CO. The overall goal of the Center is the research and prevention of child abuse and neglect. Adrienne is working on the Infants in Foster Care project. She credits the research she did for Professors Arterberry and Cain during her undergraduate years as excellent preparation for this position.

Tiffani Gavan '02 is working as a resource/special education teacher and is considering going to graduate school for counseling psychology.

Michele Tully '01is earning her Ph.D. in Applied Developmental and Educational Psychology at Boston College.

Jenny (Smith-Rushton) Dixon '00 completed her masters in Counselor Education at Penn State. She has been hired by Penn State as the Eberly College of Science Recruitment Coordinator.

Krista Gehringer '00 is a teacher/counselor at Grove School in Madison, CT, a therapeutic boarding school for kids with various emotional, social, and psychiatric difficulties. Krista finds the work extremely rewarding and an excellent way to combine psychology with education. Feel free to email Krista with questions or inquiries about the school.

Kelly Smolen '99 recently completed her Masters degree in Counseling and Human Relations from Villanova University (May 2001) and is currently working as a child assistance counselor at Woodside Avenue Elementary School in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey. Kelly's email.

Megan R. Bartlett '99 is employed at Moss Rehab Research Institute in Philadelphia where she works with people with aphasia. In August 2007 Megan will begin graduate classes at LaSalle University towards an M.A. in Clinical Counseling Psychology.  In addition, her short essay, "Smoke and Mirrors" (about body image issues) was published in the October 2006 edition of The Healing Muse, a literary magazine of the Center for Bioethics and Humanities at SUNY Upstate Medical University.  Megan continues to seek a literary agent who will represent her recently finished book, Getting Out of B.E.D.: Overcoming Binge-Eating Disorder One Day At a Time.  Megan can be contacted at megansbook2006@yahoo.com.

Alison Byrnes '98 completed M.S. in Clinical Psychology at Loyola College, MD in August, 2001. She works as a substance abuse counselor at Harbel Community Center in Baltimore, MD. She runs a counseling group in the NE Baltimore middle schools for students with substance abuse problems and students who have parents with substance abuse problems. She is also pursuing an Advanced Studies degree in Pastoral Counseling at Loyola. Alison's email.

Tom Finnegan '98 Recently (2005) graduated from Penn State University with a Ph.D. in neuroscience. He currently works for Curatio CME in Exton, PA as their chief medical writer.

Mark Gorman '98 completed his clinical psychology Ph.D. degree from the University of Vermont in Burlington this past Fall '05. He is a postdoctoral fellow in obesity and eating disorders at Massachusetts General Hospital and a research fellow in psychiatry at Harvard Medical School in Boston. Mandy (Gingerich) Hege '98 is currently in her second year of a Ph.D. program in cognitive psychology at the University of Virginia. She and Brent Hege '98 were delighted to return to Gettysburg to be married in Christ Chapel on June 23, 2001. Mandy's email.

Keith Ford '96 married another Gettysburg alum (Sharon Harmon Ford) and is currently living in Jersey City, NJ. Keith graduated from CUNY School of Law (Flushin, NY) in May and is the law clerk for the Honorable Frances Antonin, a civil court judge.

Chris Kohl '96 is looking to complete his Ph.D. in sports psychology in May '02 at Springfield College. His main area of interest has been researching youth sports and how parents influence the sporting experience. He credits his Gettysburg preparation in research methods and statistics as being a key ingredient in the success he has enjoyed in grad school.

Shannon Sprague Winter '95 - obtained MS in Clinical Psychology from Loyola College in MD 1998; obtained certification from the Maryland State Board of Counselors and Therapists in Alcohol and Drug Counseling (at Master's level) CPC-AD. She just passed the NCE (National Counselor Examination) in April '04 and is now a licensed clinical professional counselor. She is able to work in private practice, collect insurance payments, etc. She can also work with a variety of populations not just addictions. Shannon's email.

Amanda (Breen) McNally '95 completed a Masters degree in Human Resource Management at Rutgers University in May 2003. She is working as an HR Consultant at Johnson & Johnson in New Brunswick, NJ.

Kristine (Svec) Mattes '95 completed a Masters degree in Elementary Curriculum and Instruction at McDaniel College in 2000. She has been teaching third and fourth grade in the Harford County Public Schools of Maryland for eight years.

Carly (Boyle) Pranger '94 married Alex Pranger on July 8, 2001 and completed a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Florida Tech in Sept. 2002. Carly's email.

Kathryn Savitz '93 received her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology at Loyola College in MD in Sept. 2000, and anticipates taking the April 2002 exam. She currently works in a private practice doing therapy and psychological testing, and teaches at Villa Julie College and Goucher College in Baltimore. In her own words "...I often reflect on my experiences at G'burg and how incredible the psych dept. is there...It is strange but I somehow always feel connected to G'burg...."

Erin Tuttle Sonn '93 After graduation from Gettysburg, Erin worked for United Cerebral Palsy of Northern VA and DC working with families of children with disabilities. She completed an M.ED. from Marymount University in 1997 and has been teaching for the Arlington County Public Schools in Arlington, VA ever since. She is also enrolled in an ED.D program in Curriculum and Instruction at The George Washington University. Erin's email.
