Students are encouraged to meet with one of the coordinators for advising and to declare the minor early in their college career. Careful planning is required because many of the courses in the minor have prerequisites. It is recommended that students complete the core courses by the end of the sophomore year.
There are also restrictions on which electives can be used towards the neuroscience minor in that courses taken within your major discipline or which otherwise satisfy a major requirement may not be used as electives towards the minor. Since many of the electives come from Biology and Psychology, this is particularly relevant if you are a Biology major or Psychology major. Here is a list of allowable electives for each of these majors.
