Infant and Child Study Center
308 and 312 McCreary Hall, Gettysburg College
Professors Kathy Cain, Dan McCall, and Nathalie Goubet, developmental psychologists in the psychology department, supervise the research conducted at the Infant and Child Study Center. Professor Cain is interested in children's reasoning and emotions about themselves and other people. Professor McCall studies the development of problem solving in the first two years. Professor Goubet focuses on infants' perception of smells and preschoolers' perspective taking skills. Gettysburg College students help in all phases of the research: participant recruitment, testing, babysitting brothers and sisters, coding of videotapes, data analyses, and publication of the findings.
