Cristina Martinez

Cristina was born in Bilbao, Spain. She received her B.A. in English Philology from the Universidad de Deusto in Bilbao, Spain, and she holds a M.A. and a Ph.D. in Ibero-Romance Linguistics at the University of Texas at Austin. Her research and publications focus on the comparative syntactic and semantic aspects of Spanish and Portuguese. Although she follows different linguistics approaches, she is particularly interested in the study of Chomsky’s Minimalist Program since she believes that it offers a more universal perspective of modern linguistic studies.
