Conservatory of Music

The Sunderman Conservatory of Music combines Gettysburg's superb music tradition and its strengths as one of the nation's leading liberal arts colleges. Music becomes the lens through which you get a rich, full, and well-rounded education; studying the liberal arts becomes the foundation upon which you build your music expertise.

The Sunderman Conservatory offers an extraordinary range of music opportunity, both for those who wish to major in music and for those majoring in other fields who want music to remain an important part of their lives.

We offer three majors-the Bachelor of Music in Performance, the Bachelor of Arts in Music, and the Bachelor of Science in Music Education-and a full curriculum encompassing a wide variety of music genres and traditions.

Majors and non-majors can also take advantage of more than a dozen performing opportunities with vocal and instrumental ensembles.

Our graduates go on to careers in music performance, music education, musicology, music management, and other areas of music. And because the Conservatory blends music and the liberal arts, it's not unusual for Gettysburg music graduates to go on to law school, medical school, or other professional areas.
