We have a NEW Coordinator - Beatriz Trigo, Spanish, will be the Coordinator for Spring 2014. Nathalie Lebon will be the Coordinator through Fall 2013. Thank you Beatriz!!!

Check out where some of our graduating majors will be next year: Natasha Burton accepted at Columbia University School of Social Work; Elizabeth (Elle) Rupert accepted with full scholarship at Merimack College in Community Organizing. Natasha, Jess Coviello, Amanda Koslo and Elle presented their capstone project presentations at Celebration

Congratulations and thank you to Elle Rupert who carried our WGS banner during the graduation ceremony. Elle was also inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, Omicron Delta Kappa, received our Award for Excellence in the Theory and Practice in WGS, and received the Karl Mattson Service Award! The Karl Mattson Service Award was established by the Center for Public Service in 2001 in honor of Karl J. Mattson, Director of the Center for Public Service 1992-2001 and Chaplain of the College 1977-1992. It is presented to a graduating senior who has made significant contributions to the campus and the community through service. Rupert also received departmental honors for Globalization Studies and an Honor cord from WGS.

Congratulations to Katie Ragon ’13 (WGS minor) who was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and inducted on April 12th!!  And Alyssa Bosold ’13  (WGS minor) who won the Charles H. Glatfelter Prize for Leadership for 2013.  The award was made at the Phi Beta Kappa Spring Banquet on April 12.  In addition, Alyssa, a Fall 2012 inductee, gave the student response to President Riggs’ Charge to the PBK Initiates.

Majors Kaleigh Sosa ‘14, Natalie Wismer ‘15, and Minors Alyssa Bosold ‘13, Maria Flory’13, and Katie Ragon ’13 did a fabulous job presenting at the CPC Conference on Young Feminisms at F&M on March 30!
