Campus Organizations

Numerous on-campus groups relate to issues in the field of women, gender, and sexuality studies. Students are encouraged to explore the various options, and become involved with one or more of these organizations. They offer tremendous opportunities for WGS students to broaden their experiences in the field.

  • Allies is an alliance of gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and straights that seeks to educate the campus about issues related to sexual orientation.
  • Alpha Phi Omega is a national co-educational service fraternity that promotes service to the campus, community, and nation.
  • Amnesty International raises awareness about political and social oppression globally.
  • Action Against HIV/AIDS informs the campus and surrounding community about HIV/AIDS, and its current and/or past impact on society.
  • Black Student Union promotes African American issues and events on campus.
  • Cheers focuses on wellness issues pertaining to college students (i.e., drugs, alcohol, HIV/AIDS information).
  • Circle K is a college-level service organization affiliated with Kiwanis International.
  • eRace promotes critical interracial dialogue and advances racial justice.
  • Fostering Change Organization strives to be positive influences for our peers by initiating change and promoting community involvement.
  • GECO (Gettysburg Environmental Concerns Organization) promotes awareness and action pertaining to environmental issues.
  • Gettysburg Sangha spreads the awareness of a different religious perspective to the Gettysburg student community, to explore Buddhism outside of the Gettysburg College campus, and to expose students to meditation practices.
  • Students for a Democratic Society provides an open forum to announce and address issues of inequality and injustice in this country and in our local area.
  • Students Against Relational Aggression (SARA) raises awareness for relational aggression, also known as girl bullying.
  • Hillel promotes understanding of Jewish life and culture.
  • International Club supports international students and organizes activities from different parts of the world.
  • Peace Club aims to inspire the campus community to engage in Peace and Justice issues locally and globally.
  • Student Senate supports all student organizations and represents the student body.
  • Women's Center dedicates itself to supporting the fullest expression of women's potential in interpersonal, professional, and leadership experiences for a lifetime.
