Thanksgiving Dinner
A Gettysburg tradition during which students gather with their friends and head to Servo for a full Thanksgiving dinner- unlimited turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, pumpkin pie and more; the best part is that your professors serve the meal!

FYE- First-Year Experience- the extended orientation experience at Gettysburg; stretching through the beginning few months of the first year semester, FYE introduces first year students to their hall-mates and to all the different aspects of Gettysburg College life

FYS- First-Year Seminars- an diverse assortment of courses offered only to first years; designed to hone writing, speaking, and critical thinking skills in a discussion-based environment; each FYS is limited to 16 students; determines first-year housing selection

First-Year Walk- during orientation, first year students walk down Baltimore Street recreating the procession faculty and students took on November 19, 1863, to hear President Abraham Lincoln deliver his famous Gettysburg Address, which is read by an honored guest each year

GIV Day- Gettysburg Is Volunteering Day- a community service day during orientation for the entire college community; traditionally students, faculty and staff work at over 45 organizations in the Adams County community

GRAB- Gettysburg Recreational Adventure Board- organization with specially trained student facilitators who lead a variety of outdoor trips including climbing, sea kayaking, backpacking, challenge course programs and the Ascent pre-orientation trip for first-year students

The Gettysburgian- Gettysburg College's weekly student-run newspaper; focuses on all aspects of student life and campus events; students are encouraged to submit editorial pieces or join the staff

Ike's- another eatery upstairs from the Bullet Hole with pizza, pastas, and delicious Italian food

The Junction- student lounge in the CUB; the location of movie nights, coffee houses, a capella concerts and other special events

LD's- Lincoln Diner- a popular local diner open 24 hours a day
