Sampling scorpion meat and discussing Chinese politics with her hairdresser may not have been on Sarah Slater's original list of things to do during her semester in Beijing, China, but it's definitely furthered her understanding of Chinese culture, and fueled her passion to one day work in international business relations. She also had the opportunity to work with local school children, visit famous historic temples and palaces, and, of course, hone her language skills in her Chinese-speaking-only courses.
What does Sarah plan to make of her incredible experience abroad? "I hope to become a Sino-American relations analyst for a think tank in D.C., or be involved in formulatiing U.S. Foreign Policy regarding East Asia." back
