I am an English major with a writing concentration from Westhampton Beach, New York. I serve as a Leadership Mentor at the Garthwait Leadership Center and work as a peer learning assistant for the English department. Previously, I have worked as Editor-in-Chief of the college’s literary and art magazine The Mercury and interned for the Communications and Marketing Office where I wrote home page articles for the college’s website. Additionally, I am a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority. I studied abroad for two semesters in London and Lancaster, England as well as Dublin, Ireland. On a typical day, you can find me drinking coffee, hitting the gym, and eating with friends at Servo.

I am a political science major from North Plainfield, New Jersey. I am currently the vice president of the Fella’ship Organization and intern at the Admissions Office. I am a four-year varsity letter player for the Gettysburg College Football team as well as a member of the Black Student Union. I had the great pleasure of going to Kigali, Rwanda, on an immersion trip that the Center of Public Service coordinates. Additionally, I work in Athletic Communications and referee intramural sports. On a typical day, you can find me in a great outfit, riding my fixed gear bike, going to the gym, and collaborating to plan events for my organizations.

I am an organizational management studies major with an education minor from Franklin, Massachusetts. I am a tour guide and student ambassador in which I host students during day visits. Additionally, I am a member of the social sorority Alpha Omicron Pi and involved with community service, such as the 21st Century Program. I am also completing the Garthwait Leadership Certificate this year. I am a member of the contemporary dance audition team, Zouave, as well as Hillel on campus. My junior year I studied abroad at Lancaster University in Lancaster England. I further expanded my global learning by going on an immersion trip to Nicaragua over winter break. My name is Alexa Laboy and I am an Africana Studies Major, double minor in Sociology and Peace & Justice Studies. I am from New York City, specifically Spanish Harlem. Apart from serving as the Multicultural Recruitment Intern, I am a Community Adviser for Residence Life, overseeing 140 students, and one of the Co-Managers for the College Union Buildings Information Desk. Additionally, I am an active member of the Black Student Union, serve as the President of the Latin American Student Association, a Siegfried Senior Fellow, and a student representative on the Stop Bias at the Burg Committee. My global experience came when I participated in an Immersion Trip Project to Kigali, Rwanda through the Center for Public Service, which focused on Peace Building and Development Post-Genocide. On a typical day, you will find me in class, at the CUB Desk doing homework or joking around with my friends who visit me, and running from meeting to meeting.

I am a political science and philosophy double major from San Francisco, California. On campus, I am an Undergraduate Fellow with the Eisenhower Institute where my cohort and I study transportation policy pertaining to the theme of, “Planes, Trains and Automobiles”. I have also previously been involved in the Eisenhower Institute’s “Women in Leadership” and “Inside the Middle East” programs. I am a Senior Admissions Intern where I interview prospective Gettysburg College students. Additionally, I serve as the Co-President of the Pre-Law Club, a member of Alpha Phi Omega, and a member of the national Political Science Honor Society, Pi Sigma Alpha. In the fall of my junior year, I studied abroad in Athens, Greece where I studied Ancient Greek philosophy as well as Mediterranean politics. On a typical day, you can find me in the Library basement trying to write my papers in the midst of socializing with my friends.

I am a history major with French and economics minors from Acton, Massachusetts. Outside of my work in the Admissions Office as a Senior Intern and KARE Coordinator, I manage the Student Outreach Program as part of the Office of Annual Giving. I also serve as a member of the Senior Class Gift Committee. I was fortunate enough to study abroad in Paris, France, where I took courses at the Sorbonne. I am a member of the Phi Alpha Theta Honors History Fraternity and the Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority. I also volunteer with Campus Kitchen and the Food, Land, People program at the Center for Public Service. You'll see me speed-walking around campus chugging a black coffee and bragging about my Springer Spaniel named Lucy!
