Washington, DC Club Photos

Al Wilkins '06 and Kathleen Kruczlnicki '06 are the recently named co-chairs of the Washington DC Alumni Club. Both were extremely active on campus as students, and continue to remain that way as volunteers for Gettysburg. If you'd like to be part of the DC Club planning group - which meets quarterly at Bertucci's in Arlington, VA - contact the alumni office at alumni@gettysburg.edu or 717-337-6522.

WELCOME CLASS OF 2010: The DC Alumni Club held a Welcome Class of 2010 reception at Skybar on June 24, drawing nearly 40 attendees.

Our Capitals-Flyers "NHL Night" alumni event sold out quickly, with more than 50 Gettysburg alumni, parents and friends attending the Feb. 24 contest, which the Flyers claimed 4-2 thanks to a three-goal flurry in the final period. Many folks - including some alumni who had game tickets on their own - also gathered before the game at the Greene Turtle, inside the Verizon Center. We'll order more tickets for this event next year!

The DC Club held a Curling demonstration and competition at the National Capital Curling Center in Laurel, MD, on Jan. 12, 2008. The unique opportunity, arranged by DC Alumni Club planning committee member Laurie Baty '76 (who is also a member of the Potomac Curling Club), drew 30 alumni and friends, ranging from the Class of '63 to the Class of '07. There were plenty of smiles (along with a few harmless spills), and the club hopes to sponsor a similar event in conjunction with the 2010 Winter Olympiad, when Curling will once again be in the national spotlight.
