Six Seniors are chosen annually by their peers as Linnaean Award recipients. They are honored for for their efforts to improve the campus community, excellent in academic endeavors, and overall achievements during their college careers. The Linnaean Award is sponsored by the Alumni Association, Student Alumni, and the Student Senate. The awards were presented to the winners during Homecoming Weekend, October 14, 2006.

Biographies of 2006 Linnaean Award Winners
Jennifer Baron, a Philosophy major, is a member of the College Choir, Symphonic Band, Omicron Delta Kappa, and the Socratic Club. She is a tour guide and serves as the Immersion Project Coordinator for the Center for Public Service. She is a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and has served in several leadership positions for Alpha Phi Omega.
Maribeth Black is a French major with an International Affairs Concentration. She has served as an orientation leader, a tour guide and a tutor. She also is vice president of Omicron Delta Kappa and Service Chair for Alpha Phi Omega. Maribeth has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and serves as the Literacy Program Coordinator for the Center for Public Service.
Jithin George a double major in Physics and Mathematics, is a laboratory assistant in the Physics Department and a Student Associate in the Mathematics Department. He is a Resident Assistant and has served as the treasurer and historian of the International Club. Jithin is a member of the Newman Association and has twice received the Award for Academic Excellence from the Center of Intercultural Advancement.
Stephen Ginter, a double major in History and Political Science, has served as President and Clubs Liaison of Student Senate. He was the co-founder and treasurer of the College Community Leaders and is a member of Circle K. He is a member of Phi Alpha Theta and volunteers with Big Brothers Big Sisters. Stephen has also received the John Alfred Hamme Award for Service and Leadership.
Jeremy Meehan, a Political Science major, is the President of the Interfraternity Council, Co-leader of CHEERS, and the Alumni Chair for Lamda Chi Alpha. He has served as President of the College Community Leaders and was the Membership Vice President for Alpha Phi Omega. Jeremy is a Tutor and Student Associate in the Spanish Department and is a Board Member for the Adams County Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Jenna Stokes, a Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Major, has served as the Co-President of Biosphere and the secretary and historian for The Newman Association. She is a member of the Concert Choir, Alphi Phi Omega and the Catholic Campus Ministry. Jenna has received the Dr Carl Arnold Hanson Memorial Award and is a Gettysburg College Presidential Scholar.
