Friends of the College
"Friends of the College" is a broad term that refers to those who may not have been students at Gettysburg, but who nevertheless value the College's mission and contribute to it with their gifts, grants, and volunteer efforts.
Who our Friends are
Friends include individuals and organizations that recognize the important educational, cultural, and economic roles Gettysburg plays in the region. They include philanthropic foundations that make grants to fund innovative programs the College initiates. They include anyone who appreciates the College and demonstrates that appreciation with their support.
The Benefits of "Friend"-ship
Friends of the College help us sustain our position as one of the nation's leading liberal arts and sciences colleges. In appreciation, we publicly thank Friends in College communications, and encourage them to take advantage of special campus programs and events, arts and cultural activities, the Musselman Library, and other programs and resources.
Matching Gifts
Many businesses become Friends of Gettysburg and many Friends increase the impact of their gift through company matching gift programs. Through the programs, companies match employee donations to colleges and other nonprofits, sometimes giving two or even three times what an employee contributes.
