Class Agent Profiles
Meet a few dedicated alumni who play a key role in advancing Gettysburg College. Through their philanthropic support and leadership as Class Agents, these individuals are helping Gettysburg reach new heights as one of the country's leading liberal arts colleges. Learn more about why they give back:
Alan Hershberger '53
Ponte Vedra Beach, FL
"I enjoy being the Class Agent. I think all of us have a responsibility to do whatever we can to further the goals of the College. Frankly, I enjoy getting out the old Spectrum to match the names with the faces. It gives me a chance to thank those who helped me get through some of the tougher classes."
A Gettysburg Hall of Athletic Honor inductee, Alan dedicates his time and resources to reach out to classmates, friends old and new, in support of the College. Alan was a scholar-athlete at Gettysburg - he was the recipient of the prestigious Beach award, member of the Student Senate, Sigma Alpha Epsilon brother and letter-winner in Football and Wrestling. Despite living hundreds of miles from Gettysburg, Alan stays close to his alma mater through his work as Class Agent.
Kelly Keegan Blavatt '03
Reisterstown, MD
"Volunteering for our alma mater is a win-win situation. I have the pleasure of remaining active with the campus community, while keeping in touch with fellow alums. At the same time I help obtain gifts for the campus that enable current students to have amazing experiences that would not exist without our continued support of the College."
A class agent for the Class of 2003 and Young Alumni Chair, Kelly is very involved in fundraising for Gettysburg. In her student days, Kelly was President of the Student, a Resident Assistant and Co-chair of the Senior Scholarship Campaign. Though much of her time is now spent contacting young alumni and serving as mentor for fellow young alumni volunteers, she also connects with current students through participation in the Alumni Leadership Mentor Retreat. Kelly works in the Violent Crime Division of the Baltimore County State's Attorney's Office.
