James P.D. Fleet '02 

As the Democratic staff director for the Committee on House Administration, Jamie is responsible for administrative and operational functions for the U. S. House of Representatives, including areas human resources, finance, technology, and security. The committee’s oversight extends to the Library of Congress, Smithsonian Institution, Government Printing Office, federal elections, and other crucial areas.

A political science major at Gettysburg College, Jamie mounted a write-in campaign and was elected to the Gettysburg Borough Council while a student. He served on the Student Senate and was a member of the College Democrats group and Amnesty International. Currently he is a Key Alumni Resource Effort (KARE) volunteer, member of the College Community Affairs Committee, and a Young Alumni Leadershp Program mentor. He chairs the board of the Gettysburg Festival and is a member of the House Chiefs of Staff Association board and the Union League of Philadelphia. When they are not in Washington, D.C., Jamie and Kate Fleet and daughter Rory reside in Philadelphia, Pa.

 

Michael Manzo '97

Mike is a physical therapist and owner/operator of the Atlantic Physical Therapy Center, providing services in six locations along the New Jersey shore. A health & exercise sciences major, Mike was a student athletic trainer and competitor in both basketball and baseball and participated in the Pre-Health Professions Society, Student Senate, Student Alumni Association, and Sigma Chi. He received the prestigious Linnaean Award and was inducted into Omicron Delta Epsilon and Omicron Delta Kappa, graduating cum laude in 1996.

He earned his master’s degree in physical therapy from MCP Hahnemann University Hospital and now specializes in treating orthopedic injuries and in surgical rehabilitation, dealing with complex shoulder, lumbar spine, and lower extremity injuries and surgeries. An avid CrossFitter, he is a guest lecturer for Temple University and member of the New Jersey Society of Independent Physical Therapists, American Physical Therapy Association, and Toms River Chamber of Commerce. Mike and Lauren Manzo and their three children live in Manasquan, N.J.

 

Meredith Bowne Bove '97

Meredith has been a stalwart volunteer, committed to building strong alumni relationships and helping students through career advice and professional development. She has served as a lead facilitator for the Alumni Mentor Retreat for seven years and offers students support as part of Gettysburg Career Connections. She is a member of the board of advisers of the Garthwait Leadership Center and a mentor to young alumni in the Young Alumni Leadership Program. She was recognized among the College’s Women of Distinction in 1999, and is a member of her 15th reunion committee this year.

The history and women’s studies major earned her MBA at Johns Hopkins University and holds certifications in coaching and leadership. As a management consultant, business strategist, and executive coach she has assisted leaders in both the private and government sectors. Bove is senior executive consultant and executive coach with Suntiva Consulting in Falls Church, Virginia. She and her husband Paul live in Potomac, Maryland.

 

Carolyn Holmes Lee '97

Carolyn has taken the spirit of teamwork honed on the Gettysburg field hockey and lacrosse fields to being an active volunteer for her alma mater. She has never hesitated to step forward when asked to serve as an alumni class officer, class correspondent, reunion or homecoming volunteer, or member of the Young Alumni Committee. And as a member of the Orange & Blue Advisory Council she shows her allegiance to College athletics and works to keep the program strong for current and future Bullets. In addition, her work with Gettysburg Career Connections and the example of her own career are of great benefit to students.

Carolyn majored in political science and was a member of Chi Omega. Following graduation from Gettysburg she headed to Capitol Hill before moving on to lead legislative and government affairs efforts in private industry and associations. She is senior director for tax policy for the National Association of Manufacturers. She and her husband Tim and their children Caitlin and Alex live in Arlington, Virginia.
