Sarabeth Hamberlin with the Class of 1962 Reunion Committee
“I cannot thank you enough for assisting me to make this all possible…I appreciate everything you are doing to make this opportunity more accessible for me and for others.”
For Sarabeth Hamberlin ’14, financial assistance came in the form of support from an entire Gettysburg College alumni class. In honor of their 50th Reunion, a portion of the Class of 1962 reunion goal was to raise $75,000 to fund three Gettysburg Fund Scholarships to assist deserving students. As the first recipient of a Class of 1962 Gettysburg Fund Scholarship, Sarabeth is touched by the fact that “this opportunity was granted to me by people who have had similar experiences here at this wonderful school.”
As a sophomore at Gettysburg College, Sarabeth is pursuing a dual degree in Spanish linguistics and music. She also stays busy with many outside activities: Gettysburg College Choir, GECO (environmental club), the Frisbee team, plus she is a member of the student run dance ensemble. In addition, she works as a tutor for the Spanish Department and hopes to study abroad. Sarabeth realizes all of this would not be possible without the generous support of this alumni class and, for this, she is grateful.
