Service Activities
Gettysburg College student-athletes take part in several community service projects and activities each year. Student-athletes partake in activities and events as individuals as teams, volunteering many hours of service. These activities allow our student-athletes to reach areas both local and external to the greater Gettysburg College community and our student-athletes have the opportunity to use their work ethic and leadership skills learned through athletics to positively influence others.
The volleyball team helped the Gettysburg Growing Place prepare for its opening on September 17, 2007. The Bullets took some time prior to a practice to assemble the blocks for the new early-learning center on campus that serves both College employees' families and the wider community.
Prior to competing in the 2007 Women's Lacrosse Final Four at Hobart William Smith College in Geneva, NY, the Bullets spent part of the morning at a local elementary school. The team participated in a physical education class and spoke with the children about their experience as collegiate athletes.
