COVER ART COMPETITION
Celebration ’15, the Annual Colloquium on Undergraduate Research, Creative Activity, and Community Engagement, invites all students to submit an image of an original work of art to be featured on the Celebration ‘15 program cover and in the event’s publicity materials.
Congratulations to Rachel Grande for her winning photo, "Law if the Ancients." Look for Rachel's photo on upcoming Celebration '15 materials.
Entries must be original, unpublished works in any medium (sculptures, paintings, drawings, prints, photographs) and reflect Celebration’s mission to promote research, creative activity, and community engagement. Students may submit up to three entries.
All current Gettysburg College students are eligible to enter.
HOW TO ENTER
To submit, please email a .jpeg or .tiff attachment to firstname.lastname@example.org with “Celebration Art Contest” in the subject line. Images must be high-resolution, at least 300 dpi. All entries must be submitted electronically by 5:00 pm, March 1, 2015. No late entries will be accepted.
Each entry must include a brief written statement about what is depicted and how it reflects the celebration of research, creativity, and/or community engagement at Gettysburg College.
Entrants must specify the title, medium, dimensions, and date of the work in the email.
Each entry will be judged by the Celebration ’15 Planning Committee. The Committee reserves the right not to award the prize if no entry submitted is judged worthy of the prize. The Committee’s decisions will be final.
The winning image will be featured on the Celebration ’15 program cover and on corresponding print and digital materials. The winner will receive a $150 gift card from Amazon.com.
Images may be cropped, or text may be applied over the image in the final layout. Layout decisions will be made by the graphic designer and approved by the Committee. The image will be identified appropriately and credited to the winning student.
Applicants will be notified by email of the Committee’s decision in late March 2015.
