Celebration ’14, the Annual Colloquium on Undergraduate Research, Creative Activity, and Community Engagement, wishes to announce a call for original artwork to depict this year’s theme decided upon by the Planning Committee: Beyond Curiosity. This artwork could consist of photographs, sculptures, paintings, or drawings. The Committee chose a theme that they believe could be broadly interpreted by the artist. The ideal submission will be a photograph or a photograph of a piece of art that represents Beyond Curiosity achieved by students through engaging in faculty-mentored research, creative activity, or community outreach projects.
The student who submits the winning entry (only one submission per student will be considered) will have his/her photo featured on the Celebration ’14 program cover and in the event’s publicity materials. In addition, a $150 gift card from Amazon.com will be awarded.
To submit, please email a jpg attachment to firstname.lastname@example.org with “Celebration Photo Contest” in the subject line. Please send the largest version of the image, as the image should be 8.5” x 11” in size to fit as a background for the cover.
All entries must be submitted electronically by 5:00 pm, Saturday, March 1, 2014. No late entries will be accepted. In addition to the photograph, each entry must also include a paragraph in the text of the e-mail which describes what is depicted and how it relates to this year’s theme of “Beyond Curiosity.”
The winning photograph will be selected and announced by the Celebration ’14 Planning Committee right after Spring Break.
