Author of 'Manhunt' to talk April 13
04/05/2007GETTYSBURG, Pa. - New York Times bestselling author James Swanson will give the Lincoln Lyceum Lecture April 13 at Gettysburg College.
The 7:30 p.m. lecture, "The Lincoln Assassination in Memory and Myth," will take place in Mara Auditorium of Masters Hall. Lincoln-enthusiast James Swanson will deliver the talk. Swanson's book, "Manhunt, The 12-Day Chase for Lincoln's Killer," will be available at the Gettysburg College Bookstore and a book signing will take place following his lecture. The event is open to the public at no charge.
Swanson, born on Lincoln's birthday, has studied and collected books, documents, art and artifacts connected with Lincoln's life and death since he was ten years old. He has written about history, the Constitution, popular culture and other subjects for a variety of publications, including the Wall Street Journal, American Heritage, Smithsonian and the Los Angeles Times. Swanson, currently an attorney, is also a member of the advisory committee of the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission.
Gettysburg College is a highly selective four-year residential college of liberal arts and sciences with approximately 2,600 students. It is located on a 200-acre campus adjacent to Gettysburg National Military Park in Pennsylvania. The college was founded in 1832.
