The award of $5,000 will be awarded annually to honor a novel about the Civil War published in the current calendar year to "encourage fresh approaches to Civil War fiction." Publishers, critics, and authors must submit books by December 31, 2009 for the 2010 Prize. There is no entry fee. Results announced in late September.
