First Annual Outstanding Faculty Mentor for Undergraduate Research or Creative Activity Award

1st Annual Outstanding Faculty Mentor for Undergraduate Research or Creative Activity Award

The Celebration ’13 Planning Committee has voted to sponsor its first annual award to that faculty member who best embodies what is involved in being an outstanding mentor for students engaged in research or creative activity projects.

The decision process will be two-tiered: First, we are asking students to nominate a faculty member who has served as a research or creative activity mentor to them by clicking on the survey link below and responding to the questions as to why they think their mentor should receive the award (criteria are embedded in the survey questions).   Second, we will then develop a slate of nominees based on students’ responses and submit that slate to the faculty for them to vote as to which of the nominees they believe has best met the criteria given their knowledge of their colleagues’ mentoring activities.

The Outstanding Faculty Mentor will be awarded a $2,000 research prize. The deadline for students to nominate faculty mentors by completing the survey at  https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/KTPJCR6 is Friday, March 1, 2013.
