That has especially been the case since the College joined the Centennial Conference in all sports beginning in 1993-94. Through the 2005-06 year, Bullets teams have won 74 team conference championships. The arts are central to the Gettysburg experience. Students participate in a wide variety of performance ensembles, including the Orchestra, Concert Choir, Wind Ensemble, and Marching Band. In 2004 the College's Sunderman Conservatory was founded, which offers a major in music performance. The fully renovated Majestic Theater offers a professional venue for stage performances, and the Owl & Nightingale Players theatrical club is one of the most active organizations on campus. Courses in the visual arts attract students in record numbers, and student work is exhibited regularly. There is also a writing program, which guides students in the craft of both fiction and non-fiction.
