Current Gettysburg College students have the opportunity to work with a specific library department for 8 hours a week during a single semester. Interns have worked in departments like Special Collections & Archives, Reference & Instruction, Music, and Technical Services, as well as other areas like marketing and exhibits. Students gain a variety of experiences including digitizing images, processing manuscript collections, developing reference skills, curating an exhibit, and more.

Awarded annually, this one-year, paid internship with benefits allows a recent college graduate interested in library and information science the opportunity to work across various departments in Musselman Library and gain valuable experience in many aspects of library operations, procedures, and management.
For graduate students enrolled in an accredited graduate program in library and information science, we may also work to provide an unpaid internship or field experience for students interested in academic libraries.
See what our interns are working on today in Blogging the Library: The Interns @ Gettysburg College’s Musselman Library, a blog maintained by our undergraduate interns.
