Historic Gettysburg College

The photographs on display in Musselman Library’s stairwell offer a glimpse of campus life as it appeared during the College’s first 100 years.

Four of the images were created by battlefield photographer William Howard Tipton, a Gettysburg native who apprenticed with local photographers Charles and Isaac Tyson. Several of the other photographs appeared in the Spectrum.

All historic photographs are located in Special Collections and College Archives on the fourth floor of Musselman Library.  They can also be viewed online in the Library's GettDigital collections.
