Since the beginning of time, people have devised myriad ways of preparing and serving food, creating tools for a wide variety of culinary uses in the process. To the modern cook in today’s era of microwave ovens and frozen foods, home kitchen utensils of even a hundred years ago often look like artifacts from an archaeological dig. This exhibit displays ordinary items from the Anglo-American kitchen of a century ago, revealing something about their history, the women who used them, and the society in which they were produced. Items on loan from the private collection of Lawrence and Lynda Taylor.
