Dragoons, 1905
Dragoons were armed and mounted military units that preceded the cavalry in this country. Their charge was to patrol the territories west of the Mississippi River. Here a Dragoon unit engages in hand to hand combat with a duo of Native American warriors. This was one of Remington's most complex compositions.
