Paleolithic Man, 1906

According to Remington scholar Michael Greenbaum, the subject of Paleolithic Man "apparently resulted from a discussion of Charles Darwin's theory of evolution among Remington and his friends who suggested that the artist give shape to his idea of the early human." One of the few casts made was presented by the artist to Theodore Roosevelt.
