Accuracy
Ask yourself these questions to evaluate the accuracy of a Web source
- Are there citations to the sources of the information? Are these sources reputable?
Look for links to sources or footnotes and check that the links work.
Look for well-known sources.
Beware of Web sources that make it difficult to verify their sources.
Beware of information that could have been linked but was copied instead. It could have been altered from the original.
- Are there spelling, grammar or typographical errors?
This is a reflection of the accuracy of the site and may be a reason to look into the reliability of the information in more depth.
