How to Use netLibrary

We now have eBook titles in MUSCAT, available through netLibrary. You will know it is an eBook because of the message, "Click on the following to: An electronic book accessible through the World Wide Web; click for information" By clicking on the message you will go to that title on netLibrary.

If the book is available, you may browse it for 15 minutes. However, you may check the book out or download the book up to 24 hours.

To check out an eBook you must first create a netLibrary account, but you must be on campus. To create an account or search for NetLibrary eBooks, go to www.netlibrary.com. NOTE: netLibrary works best with Internet Explorer.

How to create a netLibrary login

1. You must be on campus to set up a login for NetLibrary
2. Open Internet Explorer (netLibrary does not work well with Netscape)
3. Go to www.netlibrary.com
4. Select Create a Free Account 
5. Enter your identifying information (user name, password, email address, and other information)
6. Select Create Account

Logging in

Each time you want to check out an eBook, or access it remotely, you must first login.

1. If you are on campus, go to www.netLibrary.com and select Log In from the main navigation bar.
   If you are off campus, go to www.netLibrary.com and enter log in information in the Current Members section. Enter your user name and passoword in the Current Members section.
2. Select Enter
3. You now have access to all eBooks available from Musselman Library.

Finding an eBook

1. You may search for books by title, author, keyword, full-text, sujbect, or ISBN.
   To do a phrase search, submit your search in quotes--for example, "the written word"
2. Select search

Browsing an eBook

You may browse an eBook without loggin in for 15 minutes. While you are using it, no one else will have access to it.

1. Locate the eBook you want to view
2. Select the eBook title to display the page, View This Book 

Checking out an eBook

To check out an eBook, you must first login. Checking out an eBook gives you exclusive use of the eBook for 24 hours. The eBook is automatically returned after 24 hours.

1. Locate the eBook you want to check out
2. Select the eBook title to display the page, About This eBook
3. Select either the link to Browse this eBook online or the link to Checkout and read online.
4. Each book you check out will be placed in My eBooks. The button for My eBooks is located on the navigation bar.
