Gettysburg College has sent acceptance letters to prospective members of the Class of 2016.
Applications totaled more than 5,500, representing 47 states and 105 countries.
Accepted students can connect with their future classmates on the Class of 2016 Facebook page, as well as visit a specially created website that features information on everything from orientation to housing.
Accepted and enrolled students and their families are invited to campus April 21 for Get Acquainted Day, an annual springtime celebration that offers opportunities to talk to current students, interact with professors from all of the academic departments, tour the campus community and more.
"This year’s applicant pool was filled with outstanding students who have made many accomplishments both in and outside of the classroom,” said Director of Admissions Gail Sweezey. “I am inspired by their work, and look forward to meeting these students on campus as they begin to finalize their college choices.”
The Class of 2016 will eventually include approximately 720 members.
Founded in 1832, Gettysburg College is a highly selective four-year residential college of liberal arts and sciences with a strong academic tradition that includes Rhodes Scholars, a Nobel laureate and other distinguished scholars among its alumni.
