Did you know?



In a tradition dating back 40 years, faculty and staff will serve a traditional Thanksgiving dinner to students on Nov. 17. Watch videos from past dinners.


This year Dining Services purchased almost $400,000 in locally grown and processed foods. Other sustainable practices include:

  • a reusable mug program
  • reducing waste and water use
  • recycling cooking oil

Twelve students are taking part in the Eisenhower Institute Undergraduate Fellows Program, a program that offers students the chance to develop their leadership skills and grow in their knowledge and understanding of public policy. Read more.

Colorado wilderness leadership trek through photo blog 

Spring break in Cancun? Not for 24 Gettysburg College students who spent 11 days trekking through Colorado's rugged Sawatch Range.

Each carrying up to 65 pounds of food and gear, the students gained leadership skills through the College's annual Wilderness Institute.

Thanks to a portable solar panel and cellphone service from some mountain peaks, the students shared their adventure via a photo blog that was updated throughout the trip.
