Livestream Troubleshooting

The video stream provided by the Vbrick is a WMV (Windows Media File) format. To play this file:

On a Mac:

In order to open the video stream automatically using QuickTime on a Mac, you must have Flip4Mac installed, which is a plugin that allows QuickTime to play WMV files.  Download the plugin:

If Quicktime still fails to open the stream, download VLC Media Player:
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-macosx.html

Once installed:

  1. Copy the video stream link
  2. Open VLC.
  3. Open the File menu and select Open Network.
  4. Paste the video stream link into the URL field.
  5. Click Open.


On a PC running Windows XP:

 

On most PCs, Windows Media Player will open automatically when the link is clicked. If the link does not open automatically:

  1. Copy the video stream link
  2. Open Windows Media Player
  3. Right-click in the title area at the top of the player window to reveal the pop-up menu
  4. Select File --> Open URL
  5. Paste the video stream link into the Open field
  6. Click OK

On a PC running Windows 7:

If the link does not open automatically in Windows Media Player:

  1. Copy the video stream link
  2. Open Windows Media Player
  3. Right-click in the blank area to the left of the player controls at the bottom of the window to reveal the pop-up menu.
  4. Select File--> Open URL.
  5. Paste the video stream link into the Open field.
  6. Click OK

 


On a PC Using VLC:

 

If Windows Media Player fails to open the file on a PC, you can use VLC media player. Download VLC: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html

Once installed:

  1. Copy the video stream link
  2. Open VLC
