Zach Thomson '15 mentioned in Patriot-News for wrestling success

Zach Thomson '15 was mentioned in a November 29 article on college wrestling in the Patriot-News for his successful wrestling season.

Action gets under way at 11 a.m. Friday and at 9 a.m. Saturday, and joining the two teams ranked among the Division III top 25 are Bridgewater State, Gettysburg, Lycoming, McDaniel, Mount Union, Muhlenberg, SUNY-Cortland, Springfield, Ursinus, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

Seven wrestlers are ranked among the top 10 at their respective weights, including Gettysburg’s Zach Thomson, who is No. 3 at 174 pounds.

York College will host the New Standard Corporation Invitational beginning at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at its M&T Bank Fieldhouse. Finals are set for 7:30 p.m.

Twelve teams will compete, including four that are ranked and 13 nationally ranked wrestlers. Ithaca College, at No. 8 and also defending tournament champion, joins York, College of New Jersey and Johnson & Wales as the ranked squads.
