"1,000 to 1: The Cory Weissman Story," was featured in a Dec. 16 Frederick News Post story.
The film, which recently wrapped principal photography on campus, is the true story of a young basketball player who suffered a catastrophic stroke as a freshman at Gettysburg College and returned to the court for one remarkable moment in the last game of his senior year.
From the News Post:
Gettysburg student’s story goes Hollywood
Going from scoring more than 1,000 points as a high school basketball star to 1 point as a college player would be disappointing for anyone.
But for Cory Weissman, it was nothing short of miraculous.
Weissman, a New Jersey native who suffered a stroke during his freshman year at Gettysburg College in 2009, worked his way back to the court with support from his mother, who is a physical therapist, his coach and teammates, and his own determination.
Weissman's story is captured in the independent film "1,000 to 1: The Cory Weissman Story," filmed in October on the Gettysburg College campus.
