Sophomore guard Sango Amolo scored a career-high 28 points and the Gettysburg College men's basketball team posted its highest scoring output in nearly four years, downing Ursinus College, 90-76, in a Centennial Conference match-up Wednesday evening in Bream Gymnasium.
The Bullets led just 41-40 at halftime before outscoring the Bears 49-36 in the second stanza en route to their top-scoring game since their 91-78 victory over Washington College in the semifinals of the 2010 Centennial Conference tournament.
Senior center Connor Poston added 17 points on 7-of-9 shooting, and he scored eight straight points during a decisive Gettysburg run early in the second half. Poston also grabbed six rebounds for the Bullets, who shot a season-high 58.2% from the field and dished out a season-best 19 assists.
