College mentioned in Public Opinion article about commemoration crowds

Gettysburg College was mentioned in a July 1 Chambersburg Public Opinion article about the crowds in gettysburg during the battle commemoration.

From the Public Opinion:

Visitors are using the Freedom Transit shuttles to take them from parking lots to events, according to Richard Farr, executive director of shuttle operator Rapid Transit.

"Our goal is to get them out of their car, and I think we've done that," Farr said. "Events are well-attended. There are people and feedback has been positive."

Chuck and Susan Craig missed the 8 a.m. shuttle bus Monday from Gettysburg College for the cannon firing at Seminary Ridge. The suburban Pittsburgh couple walked the mile uphill.

The crowds are what he expected, Chuck Craig said.
