In an article published on March 13, first-year student Namgyal Wangchuk Lhagyari Trichen was featured for his visit to a New Jersey high school. He showed a copy of his film, "My Country is Tibet," and discussed his lifestyle and the plight of his people in a question and answer session after the documentary.
From the Star Ledger:
He’s incredibly humble for a 21-year-old king.
And he doesn’t go by “Your Highness” or “Your Majesty” — it’s just Trichen.
Without fanfare, the king of Tibet visited West Essex Regional High School in North Caldwell today to show students a short documentary film on his unconventional life as both royalty and refugee.
