College receives national media attention for entertaining tourists during government shutdown

The government shutdown closed Gettysburg National Military Park, a popular tourist destination which draws around 3 million visitors a year. However, Gettysburg College entertained the tourists at the Majestic Theater, and was subsequently featured in the Los Angeles Times and USA Today. 

“It’s going to be the second-best experience you can get at Gettysburg without being on the battlefield,” said Jeffrey Gabel, executive director of the Majestic Theater.
