Guelzo mentioned by WITF for Guggenheim-Lehrman award

History professor Allen Guelzo was mentioned by WITF for being named the Guggenheim-Lehrman prize winner in the military history category.

A midstate college professor's book about the Civil War conflict in Gettysburg has won a $50,000 prize.

Allen C. Guelzo's "Gettysburg: The Last Invasion," has received the inaugural Guggenheim-Lehrman Prize in Military History.

“Guelzo’s book exemplifies the qualities the judging panel was seeking in a winning title for the prize,” Dr. Andrew Roberts, chairman of the judging committee, says. "'Gettysburg' will stand out as a lasting and important work in the military history genre.”
