Faculty recitals to take place Oct. 2, 4 at Gettysburg College
Gettysburg, Pa - Sunderman Conservatory of Music Professors Leah Crowne and Kathleen Sasnett will perform Oct. 2 and 4, respectively, at Gettysburg College.
Crowne's 8 p.m. performance, "Despite and Still," will take place in Schmucker Hall Room 222. The program is entitled after Samuel Barber's final song cycle and includes a disparate collection of texts from post-modern poets.
Sasnett's 2:30 p.m. recital, "The Verdi, Puccini, and Wagner Soprano," will take place in Schmucker Hall's Paul Recital Hall. Sasnett will perform a musical piece by each composer from the operas "La Traviata," "Tosca" and "Tannhaeuser."
Gettysburg College is a highly selective four-year residential college of liberal arts and sciences. With a student body of approximately 2,500, it is located on a 200-acre campus adjacent to the Gettysburg National Military Park in Pennsylvania. The college was founded in 1832.
