Foreign service professionals from the United Arab Emirates will take part in the Gettysburg Leadership Experience at Gettysburg College as part of their diplomatic training in the United States.

The 15-member delegation comprises Foreign Service and embassy personnel who are undergoing executive training in Washington, D.C. While spending five days at Gettysburg College, the group will work on developing leadership skills, such as problem solving, communication, and team building, through group discussions, guided tours of the Gettysburg Battlefield, and scholarly presentations.

The Gettysburg Leadership Experience blends leadership and decision-making with practical application and tools to become more effective leaders. Founding partners Lawrence Taylor, a former U.S. Ambassador to Estonia, and William Rosenbach, former Evans Professor of Eisenhower Leadership Studies and Professor of Management at Gettysburg College, serve as leader-facilitators and use stories of key leadership moments during the Battle of Gettysburg to bring to life lessons of leadership in action.

Taylor has experience in foreign affairs leadership, training, management, and policy development as a career diplomat with the U.S. Department of State. Rosenbach's research focuses on leader and follower behavior, effectiveness of leadership development programs, and the relationship of transformational leadership to organizational culture and is the co-author of Contemporary Issues In Leadership.
