Photo of the Day

September 10, 2009

Wendee Dunlap photographed this butterfly’s emergence from a chrysalis that Deb Wagner brought to the Office of Capital Giving, where both are administrative services assistants. “Deb told me that generally when she releases the butterflies, they just sit on a flower for a while,” Dunlap wrote. “This one took off as soon as she let it go. He flew around in a circle above us for a few seconds, then alit on the small tree near the rose bush just to the south of Penn Hall.”
