Richard Funk submitted this image of his grandson, Ryan Stones ’12 with “Herbie,” the College Choir’s mascot, originally found in a dumpster during a European tour in the 1970s. Before a concert at his church in Virginia last spring, Stones was chosen as the bear’s “caretaker” for the year. Funk is also the father of Jennifer Funk Weber ’88 and Victoria Funk Stones ’86, and father-in-law of Richard Stones ’86.
