The Department of Theatre Arts sponsored a trip to Washington Wednesday to see a new production of Leonard Bernstein's musical Candide, adapted by renowned director Mary Zimmerman to include more of Voltaire's novel than usual. Following the co-production of DC's Shakespeare Theatre Company and Chicago's Goodman Theatre, students took a backstage tour of Sidney Harman Hall. The Provost's Office co-sponsored the event.
