Gary Brautigam, director of dining services at Gettysburg College, recently showed residents of the Adams County Homeless Shelter how to prepare simple, nutritious meals on a shoestring budget. “Cookin’ with Gary” featured three hot pasta dishes that incorporated leftover turkey, a wide range of fresh vegetables, and inexpensive frozen mussels. Part of a series of weekly life skills classes, the event was planned by Mandy Buell ’15, Meagan Lesniak ’15, Maria Lombardi ’15, Keelin Salisbury ’15, and Melissa Tighe ’15, who are all students in Chris Fee’s first-year seminar on homelessness.
