Gettysburg College donated $5,000 to Healthy Adams Bike-Pedestrian Inc. (HABPI) to help complete the Gettysburg Inner Loop bike trail, part of which already exists along Old Harrisburg Road leading to Gettysburg Area High School. The College provided land for the trail along the campus’s northern edge. Plans call for the trail to link areas of the historic town and eventually connect to surrounding municipalities. Lawson is also the College's Associate Vice President for Government and Community Relations. "We are pleased to support this community project which will bring those riding their bikes onto our campus," said Riggs. Hickethier praised the College's involvement: “They certainly make our area a better place to live, and this is just another example in a long list."
