Carol Bellamy ’63 was executive director of UNICEF, director of the Peace Corps, president of the New York Council, and a New York state senator—not to mention her successful career as a corporate lawyer.
In 2004, Forbes named her one of the 100 Most Powerful Women in the World.
Today she is president and CEO of World Learning and president of its School for International Training. The organization focuses on experiential education, from summer programs for high school students to graduate degree programs, in locations like Africa and Latin America.
During a whirlwind return to campus, Bellamy spoke with organizations and individual students about study abroad and global citizenship. She also took time out for an extended interview with Gettysburg, the College’s magazine.
