From working on the set of MTV News to coordinating community outreach for Senator Barack Obama, more than 200 Gettysburg College students are engaged in internships, externships and other career-related experiential learning opportunities this summer.

Students are working in nearly 30 states and three foreign countries this summer.

From the Big Apple to Capitol Hill and from China to Ecuador, students are working for major companies and organizations in a wide range of fields including media, entertainment, politics, scientific research, financial services and the arts.

Students are also finding invaluable experience closer to campus, interning with local organizations such as the Gettysburg Times, Open Minds, South Central Community Action Programs and the Adams County Children's Advocacy Center.

In addition to traditional internships, this marks the fourth year in which Gettysburg College's Center for Career Development has offered externships, through which gain an insider's view into a career field by shadowing a graduate, parent or friend of the College for a week.
