Famed dining hall cookies get a tour of London

While studying abroad in England, what did a group of Gettysburg students miss the most? Of all things, it was the cookies from the campus dining center, known as Servo. To convince the dining center staff to send some cookies overseas, the students promised to carry the cookies throughout the country and take pictures of them next to Britain's most famous landmarks. Shortly thereafter, the students received a giant box in the mail.

"There were dozens and dozens of cookies in almost every flavor and we were ecstatic," said junior Alice Hughes, a psychology major and neuroscience/biology minor from Milford, Conn.

The students positioned the Servo cookies next to prominent landmarks, such as St. Paul's Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, and Buckingham Palace, for their promised photo ops. Thanks to their clever idea and the cooperation from Gettysburg's staff on campus, the students found out that they could have their Servo cookies for a countrywide photo shoot, and even better, eat them too.
